Triple Chilli Chaat
Wonderful weather. Dry, sunny, slight sea breeze.
Meh, what’re you gonna do?
More importantly, what’re you not gonna do?
What you most certainly aren’t going to do is spend, as the bard of Whalley Range so perfectly put it, “warm, Summer days indoors…”
Prosciutto, date, and nut salad
The Paleovirtus womenfolk were having steaks.
I’d had a largish lunch, and couldn’t quite see myself managing a whole lump of beef.
I wanted a salad, but something with a bit of body behind it, if you follow.
Indian carrot salad
Here’s another cracking little side dish that will work supremely well as an accompaniment to any Indian meal.
Having said that, we often eat it alongside other meals, too, such as a simple grilled or fried piece of meat.
Ham, avocado, and anchovy salad
I’ll have to be brief here, because as Björn and Benny so eloquently put it – “Day is dawning, and I must go…”
Soon I’ll be packing my case, and setting off on the long walk to the station, to catch a fast train, bound for London, the airport, and ultimately, the Home Kitchen.
Salmon and cashew salad
I’m on the road again, and so away from all the comforts of the Home Kitchen.
When on the road you have to be prepared to be adaptable, making do with simple, easy meals, as and when you can take them.
Fish, flesh, and fruit salad
Yesterday’s free time had already been promised to other projects, in particular some much needed computer maintenance.
I’d even pencilled in a soccer match on TV , on the assumption that the pointy-clicky technical stuff would go according to plan.
This meant that kitchen time was going to be in short supply. A salad seemed the obvious choice here.
Prawn and Shredded Omelette Salad
Sometimes, when you’re cooking for a family, there are no “one size fits all” options.
The head might not necessarily want to cook 2 separate meals, but the stomach has other plans.
